As a night owl, having a productive morning was always a struggle for me. I never felt like there was enough time in the day to get anything done.

I didn’t have a set morning ritual. I would wake up when a baby was crying and it was a different schedule on different days. I tended to skip the most important meal of the day and completely underestimated the importance of a healthy breakfast.

I rarely scheduled morning activities because I knew we would have a hard time getting out the door with young kids when we weren’t getting enough hours of sleep and every small thing felt like such a difficult task. I heard that most successful people did 8 things before 8 am. I tried it, and it worked! I created my own great morning routine and felt less stress throughout the day. It’s all about the little things and creating your own morning checklist.

1. Start The Night Before

Starting your morning routine can be made easier if you start the night before with a great evening routine. You can make a list of things that need to be done the following day, including what you’ll be wearing and packing your bag. You can also review your schedule for the next day. For instance, if you have a meeting in the morning, make sure you know what time it is and what time to be there. This will put your mind at ease at the end of the day and ensure that you’re ready to start your day.

One of the most important things to remember in the morning is to hydrate with a glass of water. Staying hydrated is essential for your health and well-being. When you’re well-hydrated, you’re more alert and ready to tackle your day. Drinking water in the morning will also help you avoid dehydration and improve your metabolism.

Water is your best option for hydrating yourself. It is calorie and caffeine-free. Drinking water before you drink coffee is a great way to make sure you’re hydrated.
