10 Beautiful Scriptures to Help You Get Through the Hard Days
Use these Scriptures for help to get through the hard days to come up with a battle plan to turn those days around and lean on Him to get through the day.
I don't know about you, but some days are just hard.
The whining starts before we even make it down the stairs. Pushing and shoving, just trying to be the first one at the table. Sleepless nights. Staying up way too late working or watching television. The days that you can't wait until bedtime, and yet it's not even noon.
Ever had one of those days?
I could be wrong, but I think we all have at some point.
Maybe you wish you could add hours to your day because you just can't fit it all in. Maybe you are so overwhelmed with life, you feel like you're drowning. Streamlining your day sounds great, but how? Do you have a mountain of laundry that just never ends?
Instead of counting down the hours and minutes until bedtime, because we all know that isn't going to help the day turn around, let's commit to meditating on Scripture.
Scripture is God-breathed, useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). If anything can turn our day around, it's Scripture.
Is it easy? Of course not. Most days we would probably much rather throw ourselves a pity party, post a status on Facebook that would get the sympathy of all our friends, and go back to counting down the hours until bedtime.
And please do not think for one minute I am pointing a finger at anyone but myself here. It's hard. My selfish heart shines through, and I just want to go to the bathroom by myself without someone climbing on a counter while I'm gone. Really. Is it that hard to stay off the counters?
Let's come up with a plan. Those hard days are inevitable. We don't have to succumb to them. Let's come up with a battle plan to take back our day. We have to combat the crazy.

10. Matthew 7:7-8

Look At Them Daily
Now that you have made your cards, place them in places you frequent each day. By the kitchen sink, in a cabinet, on a bathroom mirror, by a door, in the laundry room. Think about your day and what happens during the day. Maybe take the cards with you and place them in all of your places you spend your time each day. You can also keep the cards together, punch a hole in the corner and put them on a ring. Slip them into your purse or diaper bag so they are handy when you need a little encouragement.
I pray that your hard day turns around and you are able to make the best of it. Stay strong, dear sister. You can do this. Let's feed our souls with Scripture and truth.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not on thine own understanding.
6) In all the ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths
I have those days too often. Today might have been one of them. Combine post vacation mess with a very crabby baby and it wasn’t fun. What a great idea for the scripture verses.
The following verses have been a real blessing to me in a recent trial. I have them where I see them every day. The third one is my favourite, so calming.
2 Cor 4:8-9
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
2 Cor 4:17-18
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Exodus 14:14
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Those are excellent verses, Sharon! Thank you so much for sharing!! I love the last one!!
Thank you for these additional verses. I’m in tears, so thankful for the promises of our Father.
Yes! In the beautiful mess of our lives, He is our constant. Our hope. Our peace. Our joy. Hugs!
That last one. Whoa!
Thanks for posting these wonderful Bible verses, just when I needed to read them most.
Wow! How timely! I had “one of those days” when the pity party lasted too long! Combine a high car repair bill with the chihuahua “relieving” himself on my comforter, ironing the wrong bed skirt and too many phone calls, I was ready to have the screaming meemies. Then I realized how blessed I was, paid for the repair, washed the comforter, let the answering machine do its job, and counted my blessings; sat down with Pinterest and here I am! Thank you for this breath of fresh air! God bless!
Thank you for these…I really needed them. And appreciate you taking the time to write this article. I’ve been having a pity party myself. I lost my daughter two years ago in a car accident and I’m raising her 13-year-old son. I feel overwhelmed sometimes because my health is not great. However I have this precious young man to be with me and remind me of his mother who I miss dearly. Thank you for reminding me to see beyond the negative and to know that God gives me graces.
Those are some of my favorite verses! Another one that helps me a lot is Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Thank you so much for sharing that verse, Jenna! That is a great one. He hasn’t left us. He’s holding us up. Love that!
Thank you for the encouragement… have a wonderful week!
Isaiah 40:31 those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint.
Thanks so much. I’ve been feeling so low and bad all day. This gave me renewed strength. I’ve had my emotions wound like a spring and I hit the wall today. This helped me so much
I am so glad these words encouraged you today. We all need these reminders. Hugs, friend!
It seems like lately I have been having these days…well, daily! 🙂 I have two boys under two and sometimes it can be so overwhelming (especially with one teething! I am definitely going to be writing these out and posting them all over my house! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Katy
These were definitely put in my path for a reason, just lately things have been very draining and i havent enjoyed my children as i should be. thank you x
Jeremiah 29:11-14 is a favorite scripture verse! Thanks for putting this together, meditating on the scripture is so important but I feel mostly often gets pushed to back burner.
This was very encouraging, thank you! 🙂 Stay blessed!
Oh how I need this, like everyday! I love the idea of writing the verses on pretty note cards!!
Thank you. I really needed this today. God has a way of reminding us of his presence when we feel overwhelmed. For me it was a little bit of scripture that popped up in my pinterest feed.
This is one of my favorite scriptures for comfort. Isaiah 49:15-16 “I will not forget thee. I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands”.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success
Joshua 1:5 No man shall stand before you all the days of your life, just as I was with Moses and so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you
Matthew 8:17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by prophet Isaiah “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases”
Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives and at the last He will stand upon the earth
Every morning as party of my devotion, I pray The Prayer of Jabez and Jeremiah 29:11. Every day those scriptures have become precious to me and I glean something wonderful from them each day for that days circumstances.
The Prayer of Jabez:
“Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.”
Great post. Here are some of my other favs:
Job 12:12 “If a man dies, will he live again?
All the days of my struggle, I will wait until my change comes.”
Isaiah 54:13 “All your sons will be taught by the Lord and great will be your children’s peace.”
Also, years ago, I heard someone interpret Isaiah 40:11 as “He leads gently, those with young.” Oh wow, did I need some gentle handling and lots of grace -5 children under 6 yrs can be trying!
I use an app called #ScriptureTyper that has been SO helpful in memorizing verses and whole sections of the Bible. AND it’s fun to use! 😉
Very uplifting.
Greetings from New Mexico! Thanks for posting! I was in the midst of having a total “mommy-meltdown” yesterday, and stumbled across this on Pinterest. I grabbed my Bible and journal and starting writing, and of course God’s Word soothed my stressed-out mind. Your post continues to bless others in 2015!
I’m so glad you came across the post! I need to reread that one often. Ha! Thanks for sharing :).
Thanks for sharing. My favorite go to is Psalm 23.
Isaiah 41:10
I just want to thank you. First of all for being honest about your own struggle to sit down and read God’s word. When I first sat down and started to read your blog, My first thought was, ” it must be nice to be able to just be so motivated to sit down and read everyday without the pull of the flesh. Then it came to my heart to ask the Lord please help me to be able to dig into his word. then you provided the scriptures of encouragement, and finished with a word of encouragement that touched my heart. Thank you for being a vessel that God used to touch my heart today 🙂 God bless you richly. Sincerely, Donna
The joy of the Lord is our strength. Neh. 8:10
