As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items and educational material to use and share our experiences. However, all opinions are my own.
Growing up, I remember begging my dad to take me to the bookstore so I could get a new Babysitters Club book or one from the Black Stallion Series when I went through my horse phase. I loved to read and devoured books, staying up into the wee hours of the morning until I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. Reading was fun. I thought passing on this love of reading to my children would come naturally. Reading to them as babies and toddlers. Always having a basket of books around so they could grab them easily and pretend to read. Having a bookcase full to the brim with classic books from my childhood, picture books, and living books.
I wanted something more though. Something that wasn’t on a screen. At school, I remember loving reading centers. At home, I would pull out my little record player or cassette tape radio as a child and follow along as someone else read the story to me. I wanted something like that for my kids. I wanted them to have reading readiness before they went to Kindergarten and help as they progressed through school.
But where would I find something like that?
LeapStart from Leapfrog
Leapfrog has our backs. Their commitment to created whole-child learning systems continues with LeapStart™, an interactive learning system that gets kids excited about counting, learning to read, problem-solving and more through fun, replayable activities. LeapStart has been a hit in our house. It has been redesigned to include handles and is slightly smaller which makes it easier for little hands to manage. The books from the previous model work with this one too!
It also features touch-and-talk games, creative challenges, problem-solving puzzles, math mazes and more for2-7-year-olds with more than 30 activities in every book!
LeapStart has three levels: Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and the Learn to Read packs Volume 1 and Volume 2 which contain 12 books with leveled learning for ages 4-7 that builds reading confidence. My youngest two were super excited to see PJ Masks and Paw Patrol books!
Most replayable activities are designed with two levels so that kids can play and learn at the right level and move up when they’re ready.
