You might have heard all of the hype surrounding Pixar Pier and Pixar Fest this summer at the Disneyland Resort. However, did you know that Walt Disney World just got a brand-new land too? That’s right, Toy Story Land opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on June 30, 2018, and we couldn’t be more excited!
This land takes you to “Infinity and Beyond” with new attractions, dining locations, shopping and more. With so much to see and explore, I’ve got everything you need to know about Toy Story Land in Walt Disney World.
What Is There to Do in Toy Story Land? 6 Things to Do In Toy Story Land
1. Slinky Dog Dash
Slinky Dog Dash is the newest attraction at the Walt Disney Resort and you can experience it while visiting Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. This kid-friendly coaster is based around Andy’s Mega Coaster Play Kit, so guests can expect to go on twists, hills, and drops, making it fun for everyone who climbs aboard.
If you’re looking for the maximum thrill on this ride, try to get a seat near the rear of the coaster. However, if you’re looking for something timider, try to aim for the middle or the front. Regardless, this coaster is fun for kids, tweens, teens, and adults!
2. Alien Swirling Saucers
You’ll be saying “Oooooh” when you ride the Alien Swirling Saucers. Here, you’ll be able to board a toy rocket and hang on as the Aliens take you on a journey through space. But, you’ll want to beware of the claw! Not only will the Aliens spin you into space, but you’ll also be able to rock out to an intergalactic soundtrack too.
This ride is perfect for all ages and we’re “eternally grateful” that it’s now in Walt Disney World!
3. Toy Story Mania!
Of course, the beloved attraction we all know and love is still a fan favorite in Toy Story Land. If you’ve never ridden Toy Story Mania! before, it was an interactive 4-D attraction that lets you play various games with characters from the Toy Story franchise.
In each game, you’ll need to take aim and try to hit as many targets as you can. It’s a competition to see who can get the highest score, so you’ll want to concentrate or even team-up. While FastPasses are available for this ride, you might want to consider skipping out on them. The queue for this attraction makes you feel like you’re one of the toys in Andy’s room and is worth waiting in at least once.
Regardless of what you do, this attraction is a rootin’ tootin’ good time for the entire family!
4. Woody’s Lunch Box
Woody’s Lunch Box is the newest quick-service dining option and provides guests with options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, you can order a S’more French Toast Sandwich, Smoked Turkey Breakfast Sandwich, or a Breakfast Bowl. While during lunch and dinner, you can enjoy a BBQ Brisket Melt, Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich, and Tomato-basil Soup.
They even offer a dish called “Totchos”, which comes with potato barrels coated with chili, shredded cheese, signature queso, tomatoes, and corn chips all topped with sour cream and green onions. Yum!
However, one of the most popular items you can snag at Woody’s Lunch Box is the Raspberry Lunch Box Tart. This sweet treat is a raspberry marmalade stuffed pastry coated in strawberry fondant and crispy pearls. After trying this, it’ll be hard to eat a regular Pop-Tart ever again!
5. Character Encounters
What would a visit to Toy Story Land be without meeting your favorite toys? At Toy Story Land, you can meet Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. While you can currently find the characters near the entrance of Toy Story Land, you can also find various statues of other characters throughout the park, which is perfect for fun photo opportunities!
6. Photo Spots
Speaking of photo ops, Toy Story Land is filled with fun and adorable locations around every corner. Strike a pose in front of Andy’s Wall, the Popsicle Stick Wall, or even with the giant Pixar Ball.
However, if you’re looking for a more unique photo experience, consider visiting Toy Story Land at night. This area is filled with so many bright and colorful lights, that you’ll be able to take the perfect insta-worthy photo and enjoy the land in an entirely new light.
