Labor is hard and intense. Here are 22 Scriptures for labor to meditate and focus on during contractions as you bring your little one into the world.

With my first labor, I tried so hard to have a natural birth, but in the end, I couldn’t relax and asked (okay, BEGGED) for an epidural.

One of the things I tried doing was listening to music. I quickly learned though that I can’t stand music with lyrics while laboring. Who knew?!

If I can’t listen to lyrics, I decided that maybe I could read or meditate on Scripture verses. So I started a list of Scriptures for labor to help me focus and stay centered as I brought our little one into the world.

While I don’t mind quiet, relaxing music in the background while laboring, I really want to focus on Scripture this time around. For my last two labors, I listened to Hidden in My Heart. It was great! But there are lyrics during some songs, and those made me feel crazy. Ha!

For our fourth baby,  I wrote out Scripture to read and meditate on while laboring with little Miss. Scripture is God-breathed and empowering. I couldn’t think of a better way to bring our daughter into the world than to meditate on Scripture during the process of getting her here.

I love this! My first was similar. I don't regret getting the epidural but I am really preparing myself this time around and have been practising hypnobirthing techniques but I was thinking how wonderful it would be to do hypnobirthing but with my peace and hope stemming from Christ and scripture rather than merely positive thoughts. Thank you for putting this list together!
