Fun Activities for Kids on Zoom
1. Write a Story Together
Take turns writing a sentence or paragraph of a story together. Keep going until it’s finished!
2. Play an Online Game Together
Definitely ask permission from all parents.
You could also play a board game together!
3. Have a Tea Party
Get dressed up, send out recipes of special treats to have together, and drink tea with friends. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Set up a tea party for their babies or American Girl Dolls too!
4. Have a Show and Tell with Favorite Toys
People like to talk about themselves and share their favorite things.
Pick two or three favorites and have them share why it’s a special toy.
5. Play a Trivia Game
There are several programs that allow people to play trivia games together virtually. The one my kids are most familiar with is Kahoot!
They love the challenge and getting to play with friends.
6. Have a Scavenger Hunt
Check out this list of Scavenger Hunt ideas that are perfect for all ages.
7. Do a Science Experiment
Parents need to agree on the science experiment and help with the project depending on the age of the children.
This one needs lots of planning ahead so everyone has the supplies, but it’s super fun to do with friends.
8. Have a LEGO Challenge
My boys would LOVE THIS!
Give them a theme and a time limit. At the end of the time, they can show each other what they built and how it works.
9. Play Charades
Have everyone print off a list of charades to act out. Then take turns seeing if the other person can guess your charade!
10. Play I-Spy
I spy with my little eye, something that is…
Have fun playing I-Spy, pointing out things you can see on the other computer screen.
11. Put On A Concert
Let them practice their songs together, create their own instruments, and plan their own concert!
12. Play Dress Up
Playing dress-up is still a part of our daily life, and I’ll take it.
Make sure everyone has on something appropriate underneath their dress-up clothes so they aren’t changing clothes in front of everyone naked, but other than that, let them have fun!
13. Magic Tricks
Before the virtual playdate, have each person practice two or three magic tricks. Once they are online, everyone can put on their very own magic show!
Sounds like a magical time!
14. Read Poems and Stories Together
This is my favorite! Take turns reading books or poems together.
This is perfect for Virtual Playdates but also for Facetime or Zoom Calls with family members. How fun would it be for Grandma and Grandpa or an aunt or uncle to read a bedtime story?!
15. Have a Sing-a-Long
Make your favorite Sing-A-Long playlist and have fun singing together. Just because distance separates you doesn’t mean you can’t have fun!
Of course, our favorites are Disney playlists! I also just signed up for Apple Music so we can listen to all of our favorites in the car, at home, and using Alexa!
16. Color Together
Print off coloring pages, like these great Disney Coloring Pages, and talk to each other while you color together virtually.
17. Have a Dance-Off
Choose your favorite playlist and dance, dance, dance!
