DIY Simple Clove Mouthwash with Only Two Ingredients
This mouthwash will leave your mouth feeling spicy and clean. Bonus – it’s as easy to make as a cup of hot tea! Clove buds are found in the spice section of your local grocer. They work great in this recipe because of their strong antiseptic properties.
When my oldest was a baby, I really started looking at the ingredients in items we bought to use in and on our bodies.
I started making our own personal care products like body scrubs, lotion, and deodorant, which was frugal and a better choice for our family.
Next, I tried my hand at bug spray, sunscreen, and lip balm.
The easier, the better.
This simple clove mouthwash is great because it only uses two ingredients you already have in your pantry.
DIY Clove Mouthwash
Ingredients
1 T. Whole Cloves
1C. Boiling Water
Directions
Boil water.
Place cloves in a heat-resistant container and pour the boiling water over them.
Cover the container and let the mixture sit until cooled.
Strain the mixture and pour into a clean container.
Your mouthwash is ready to use.
Pour, swish and spit!
How long can it stay out for?
I make small batches so we go through it in 2 weeks. I don’t think it will go bad but it could lose its potency.
This sounds great, wondering if it stains the teeth ? Thanks!
I haven’t had an issue with staining. Maybe someone else who has made it can chime in?
Where do you store it? Refrigerator? Countertop? Cabinet?
Usually in the cabinet but sometimes I just leave it on the countertop.
