While women typically are the ones purchasing health and beauty products but most women have men in their lives, whether it be their husbands or boyfriends, or even their kids. So let’s cover some of the best essential oils for men out there and some recipes and blends you can make yourself that you, or the man in your life, will be grateful for.

Please note: These recipes are for certified pure essential oils, so please do not use them internally or topically if your oils are not pure. Even inhaling them when they have toxins or fillers added is not good for your body.

1. For an Immunity Booster.

Take 2 drops of oregano in a veggie capsule, along with a glass of water, or place a drop or two in the palm of your hands and rub together, cupping over the nose and mouth, and inhaling deeply. You can do this once or twice a week for general boosting, or do daily for up to 10 days for during a time of sickness.

2. Energy Boost.

Place 1 -2 drops of grapefruit in your glass of water for an uplift and energy boost during the day. This will help digestion, energy and help with afternoon slumps.

3. To Reduce Stress.

Use lavender to help calm emotions, especially during times of stress or when sleep is needed. Use aromatically in a diffuser or inhale deeply out of palms, or place a drop of bottoms of the feet, temples, and back of the neck. You can also try one of these lotion recipes using essential oils.

4. Cleanse and Rejuvenate Your Skin.

Use melaleuca, or also known as tea tree oil, to help cleanse and rejuvenate the skin and scalp by adding a drop or two into your favorite face wash or moisturizing cream, and shampoo or conditioner. It also can be used as an immunity booster like oregano above.

5. Use as a Shoe Deodorizer.

Use peppermint plus a citrus oil like lime or orange as a shoe deodorizer by placing a few drops of each on a paper towel and placing inside shoes after use, and leaving until the next time needed.

6. Soothe and Soften.

Use a few drops of lavender in your favorite skin cream or moisturizer to soothe and soften rough skin. Works great for face or for patches on arms, legs…etc.

7. Help with Alertness.

Add a few drops of frankincense and lavender together and rub on the back of the neck to soothe soreness and to help with alertness during times of need, like afternoon tiredness.

8. Relieve Inflammation.

Use frankincense for many things in your everyday routines such as cellular health, building immunity, for sore joints, distressed skin and overall balance of your health. It can be used topically by applying to joints, back of the neck, the crown of head or bottoms of the feet, as well as aromatically in a diffuser. To specifically help relieve inflammation, add a few drops to your favorite natural lotion and apply as a muscle rub. For a boost to that, add a few drops of lemongrass as well.

9. Bug Repellent.

Make a natural pest repellent by combining in a 4 oz. glass spray bottle: 3 drops lemon, 4 drops peppermint, 3 drops white fir and top off with witch hazel. Shake well and spray where needed and repeat as necessary.

10. Help to clear breathing.

Use cedarwood for a natural scent in your daily routine, as well as to help clear breathing. Add a few drops into your moisturizer or face wash or just apply a few drops on collar line or back of the neck, and wrists for scent. Use in a diffuser or inhale from palms of hands to help open up airways.

11. A very powerful antioxidant.

Clove is a fantastic oil for many reasons but for men’s health is great to promote circulation, for cardio health and is a very powerful antioxidant. It helps relieve any gum or tooth pain as well. It is a hot oil, so please note  – do not apply directly to the skin without a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil or jojoba oil.

12. Make a Natural Mouthwash.

Make a natural mouthwash by using purified water in a lidded glass container and adding a few drops each of peppermint and/or clove oils. This will help keep the gums healthy, relieve any gum or tooth pain and leave a cooling, clean sensation in the mouth.

13. Make Your Own Aftershave.

Use a combination of a few drops each of melaleuca and lavender plus fractionated coconut oil or your favorite carrier oil and apply to face for an aftershave that works great to soothe the skin and keep it healthy.

14. Detox Water.

Use any citrus oils such as lime, lemon, orange or bergamot in your daily water intake, or iced tea to help keep your body cleansed and free of toxins. This is a light cleanse and it will help balance your digestive system while tasting really refreshing. Just one to two drops per glass is sufficient.

15. The One Must Have Essential Oil.

Lemon oil is a must-have for men – It cleans anything from removing residue of gum, oil, and grease, prevents rust, loosens rusty screws, cleans batteries, and tools, and polishes chrome. It works like “goo-gone” and also like furniture polish when applying a few drops to a cloth and rubbing on the area to be cleaned.
