I have the hardest time trying to figure out what to get my kids for their birthdays, let alone Christmas. And we won’t even talk about gifts for other children. While I would love to make a handmade present for everyone we know, that’s just not possible in this season of littles. One day. I hope.
So I asked my 4 year old daughter what she would enjoy for a gift. This list below is a combination of things she said she would love, things that she plays with consistently, and one or two items I think she would really enjoy. There are affiliate links, but that’s at no added cost to you. If you can find some of these for better prices, let me know! Sometimes deal sites have products for a fraction of the cost – if you can grab it before everyone else! And I’ll admit, while I LOVE Christmas, I don’t like shopping in the stores. It’s too overwhelming and I leave with much more than I had originally anticipated. That’s why I love shopping online. Stay tuned for my favorite handmade gifts too!! Those are my favorite to give and receive.
Present Ideas for Girls:
”it’s a small world” India Doll – 16”. I’m probably in the minority, but “it’s a small world” is one of my favorite rides at Walt Disney World. I usually ride it at least twice, if not more. I had to scour The Rack for “the small world” line of clothing (affiliate link) that they carried at Nordstrom – each of my kids got a t-shirt (affiliate link) for a fraction of the original cost. I would LOVE to help Disney design a “it’s a small world” nursery collection that isn’t cheesy and over done. But, I digress. India holds a special place in my heart. The first thing my daughter asked for was a doll. So when she said this is the doll she wanted, I was thrilled. This mama might want one too ;).
Princess Bedtime Stories Book – Disney Princess. This book is read quite a bit in our house. There is a similar one that says it’s 5 minute Bedtime Stories. I haven’t timed it before, but sometimes they seem longer than 5 minutes. In those moments though I have to remember to cherish these times. She won’t always ask for a bedtime story. One day in the near future, she’ll climb in bed and go to sleep without asking to be tucked in or for a bedtime story. And I know my heart will ache and I will wish for more moments like the present.
Disney Princess Doll Collection – 12”. We don’t have those other dolls that are also this size. I’m not sure these will ever come into our house. But every time we are at a store and we pass them, she asks for them. They are definitely something a 4 year old would enjoy playing with. When she goes to someone else’s house who has these, she makes sure to tell me how much she enjoyed playing with them.
Rapunzel White Wedding Costume for Girls. If she’s not wearing her Sofia the First Costume for Girls, then she’s wearing this one. She LOVES it! She wore it on our last trip to Walt Disney World and I can not tell you how many people stopped us to ask where we got it. Apparently the wedding dressing is only available at the Disney Store. Every little girl dreams of her wedding dress, so it’s no wonder this is her favorite.
Sofia the First Book and CD. Of course we have to add in some Sofia the First presents. We have this book, and we read it a lot. The pictures are excellent, and my daughter really enjoys reading it with me. She also loves her
Sofia the First Singing Doll – 12” and her Sofia the First: Ready to Be a Princess DVD.
I hope these suggestions help as you figure out your shopping lists!
