When traveling with pets, it's important to know which State Parks are pet-friendly and which are not. Here are 8 Dog-friendly beaches you'll find on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
BROHARD BEACH AND PAW PARK
Look for shark teeth as your pup runs along the beach. It's one of the only off-leash dog-friendly beaches in Sarasota County.
LIGHTHOUSE BEACH PARK
Lighthouse Beach Park offers 32 acres to run while leashed, plenty of seashells, and a scenic lighthouse.
BOWMAN'S BEACH
Bowman's Beach is perfect for dog owners looking for a spot to picnic with the family.
Davis Island Dog Beach includes a standard dog park and a beach divided by two separate fences.
DAVIS ISLAND DOG BEACH
ALGIERS BEACH
Gulfside City Park Beach extends approximately 15 miles, is ADA-compliant, and includes showers and restrooms.
This off-leash beach is 6 1/2 acres in size with shallow water for those pups afraid of waves.
BONITA SPRINGS DOG PARK
FORT DE SOTO DOG BEACH PARK
Located in Pinellas County, it includes two dog-friendly areas for small and large dogs where off-leash pups can roam freely and enjoy their surroundings.
Pups are allowed on the beach and the nature trail with a 6-foot handheld leash. Owners must also ensure they clean up after their pets.
