Mothers Day Reflections

Mother’s Day always brings mixed emotions to me. While I celebrate the joys of motherhood with my family, I also remember the not-too-distant past. I remember the pain, hurt, and jealousy that came on this day. I wrote about our journey through infertility and the hope we have in Jesus in my eBook “Infertility: a Silent Struggle and a God Who Hears”. While I do think Mothers need to be celebrated. I also think we should be mindful of those who want more than anything to have a child to call their own, but for some reason or another, this is not the time. Above all, we must remember that our lives have a twofold purpose – to worship God and bring He glory. I would not have written infertility into our story, but we walked through that for His glory. And I pray that those struggling would find hope in Him and encouragement through our story.

After the birth of our fourth child, I decided that what people really need to do for new moms is to take up money and pay someone to clean their house. Forget about all the baby gear. I need someone to clean my house!
